Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is your refund policy?

If you cancel your trip within 14 days prior to your trip, there is no refund. If you cancel your trip more than 14 days prior to your trip, we will refund you the balance of your trip, minus the 50% non-refundable deposit per person. If you miss your trip because you are late, or choose not to attend, for whatever reason, there is no rescheduling or refunds.

Blue Sky Outfitters seldom cancels or postpones a trip, but we reserve the right to do so when necessary: due to water conditions, weather, insufficient reservations, or other reasons beyond our control. In such a case, 100% of your fees will be refunded or applied to another trip, but not expenses incurred in travel.

Where are you located?

Blue Sky Outfitters no longer has a brick and mortar location. For trips, you will meet at one of the following locations.

Wenatchee River Rafting: Riverside Park in Cashmere Wa

Where should I park?

Blue Sky Outfitters does not have designated parking.

Wenatchee River Rafting: Riverside Park has plenty of free parking within the park.

Should I make a reservation or just book day of?

We are happy to accommodate bookings at any time based on availability. Weekends (especially Saturdays) are typically very busy, and do tend to sell out. Week days generally have a little more last minute availability. If you have a large group we do recommend reserving in advance to ensure your entire party is able to participate.

Is there a weight limit?

The weight limit for both rafting and tubing is 250lbs per person, due to restrictions on how much the tube can handle in weight along with life jacket requirements.

Can I go if I'm pregnant?

Due to insurance reasons Blue Sky Outfitters cannot allow for anyone who is pregnant to go river rafting. However, we are able to accommodate for tubing, as it is simply a tube rental, and up to the discretion of the party involved as well as attaining written consent from a doctor.

Rafting Questions

What should I wear/bring?

Water shoes (or shoes that you don't mind getting wet, no slides or flip flops please)

Clothing that you are comfortable getting wet in (bathing suits or athletic wear are generally a good option)

Hats/Sunglasses/Sunscreen

DO NOT bring anything you don't want to get wet (electronics, expensive eye-wear/jewelry/watches)

Do you have lockers?

Blue Sky Outfitters does not have lockers. We recommend leaving everything you do not want to take on the river in your vehicle.

What is the age limit?

We are able to accommodate children 8 and up on the Wenatchee River and children 10 and up on the Tieton river.

Do you provide life jackets?

We provide both youth and adult life jackets.

How long is the trip?

The trip takes about two hours, this depends entirely on the river conditions. Generally the river is flowing fastest in May and gradually gets slower as the season progresses. This means that early season trips will have shorter trip times with bigger rapids, and late season trips will have longer trip times with less intense rapids.

What is the river like?

The Wenatchee is considered a class three river, on a scale out of five. The Wenatchee provides great rapids, while being wide and clear of dangerous debris. This means you will experience fantastic rapids without the need for any technical whitewater knowledge. The Wenatchee is perfect for beginner and veteran rafters alike.

How many people fit on a boat?

Most of our boats seat eight passengers plus a guide. Occasionally we will use six and ten seater boats depending on demand and river conditions.

Will I be with everyone in my party?

We try our best to keep groups together on the same boat. If you have a party larger than eight your party will likely need to split onto two boats.

How do private rafts work?

If you would prefer to have a private boat for you and your party we do offer private raft rentals. Each raft can accommodate a minimum of two and a maximum of eight.
