When you work with us to achieve your status of Raft Guide, our trainers share standardized knowledge of operating White water rafting and river operations alongside their passion for guiding on wild rivers and under blue skies. The confidence level of guides within our program increases dramatically over the course of training.
You will become comfortable taking charge in front of people you have never met. Fellow guides become close friends with a common bond of loving the outdoors, and the constant adventures of challenging whitewater!

Become a White Water Rafting Guide with Blue Sky Outfitters
Starting April 10, 2027 Blue Sky Outfitters is offering Raft Guide Training for our up coming season in Leavenworth WA. For over 40 years Blue Sky guided guests down the Wenatchee River. Our guide training program gives you hands on experience learning skills needed to become a professional white water rafting guide. The guide training is a 4 weekend training course. All your river equipment is included, limited class size.
You will spend your training learning on the river - Not jut sitting in a classroom. Our Training program covers the essential skills to become a professional raft guide, including:
Whitewater raft handling, reading the river and identifying hazards, paddle commands and teamwork, running whitewater, boat positioning and control, swimming and rescue techniques, raft flips and recovery, river safety, guest communication, river leadership, professional guiding skills.
Our Goal is not simply to teach you how to paddle a raft!
