Yakima Wine Country is Washington's first and most renowned wine region, encompassed by the Columbia Valley viticultural region and encompassing the eastern regions of the Rattlesnake Hills, the Horse Heaven Hills, and Red Mountain. The hot and arid terrain produces bold and intricate red wines like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.

The Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail is the perfect way to experience the refinement and diversity of Yakima Wine Country. While it's not a trail you actually hike, the Rattlesnake Hills are home to over 15 small wineries - quite an expedition! For the real wilderness hiking and camping, the expansive domain of Mt. Rainier is just around the corner!
