The Columbia Gorge's Most Gorgeous River

Your adventure jump-starts right in the middle of the most challenging rapid, Top Drop. Unique, pool-and-drop rapids await, such as Corkscrew, Waterspout, and Stairstep Falls. The high basalt cliffs rise and fall along the banks, teeming with tiny wildflowers, lady-finger ferns, and lush vegetation. With the rocks and water so close, you will have a very intimate feeling towards this amazingly beautiful river just across the Columbia River gorge from Oregon.

14 foot Husum Falls, Totally Optional!

The White Salmon is federally protected as a "Wild & Scenic River", and we are one of the select companies permitted by the Forest Service to run the tallest commercially raftable waterfall in the nation, 14-foot Class 5 Husum Falls! Right before the waterfall, we will stop at a beach along the river to teach everyone what to do to stay in the boat. You'll have the option of getting out and walking around the falls (although we highly recommend going down!). This is the highlight of our trip, where a photographer will be taking pictures of your plunge. Then we'll tackle the Class 3 rapids of the lower half.

The White Salmon is recommended for paddlers who are in relatively good shape and ready to take on the challenge of a technical Class 4 river.

Blue Sky Outfitters' Famous Top Sirloin Steak Barbecue
The Best Food

We will end our trip at Northwestern Lake, where you can change into dry clothes while we heat up the grills. Always an important part of the trip, our food is one of the reasons our guests come back year after year! Enjoy our top sirloin steak (veggie options available), locally grown corn on the cob, fresh salad, french bread, and lemonade. We definitely have the best meal on the river! While you are eating and exchanging stories about the day, our photographer Doug will stop by so you can see your awesome pictures from the falls.

A Big Yellow Boat All to Yourself

Want to have just your group and your guide in your raft? You can book all the seats (2-6 people, plus your guide) on the boat for a private raft. Enjoy the freedom to tailor your trip to your own tastes -- take group pictures, paddle over to interesting wildlife, bow-ride through Rattlesnake, get one-on-one time with your guide -- and make your whitewater experience truly memorable.
