The Largest Population of Bald Eagles in the Continental U.S.

The Skagit River Bald Eagle Nature Preserve is host to the largest population of bald eagles in the continental United States. Migrating to feast on spawning chinook salmon, hundreds of bald eagles migrate every winter from Vancouver Island and British Columbia to enjoy the relatively warm weather of the Skagit Valley.  With hot chocolate served on board in the comfort of our Warm Heated Rafts, you'll quietly drift by eagles perched in riverside cottonwood trees or soaring overhead with their Skagit Valley in the Wintermagnificent seven-foot wingspan.

The Skagit River Tour is very calm and peaceful allowing you to give the eagles your full attention. As you continue down the river through the Bald Eagle Nature Preserve, it's hard to imagine these American icons were once nearly extinct when you see several birds all on one tree! You'll be in awe at the close-up views you'll get, so bring your binoculars and cameras for photographs of a lifetime! At the end of the tour you will be treated to a campfire and chili feed while reminiscing about the experience.
