Experience the Methow Valley on a 2-Day Escape

Our Methow 2-Day Overnight trips are the perfect way to escape it all and really experience Washington wilderness and rivers. Embarking from the town of Carlton deep within the valley, this trip will give you plenty of chances to relax on flatwater as well as get totally soaked through some of the state's best rapids! Just like our Wenatchee-Methow Overnighters and our Skagit River 2-Day Overnighters, while you're with us we'll grill up all your meals over an open flame, including our famous Top Sirloin Steak Barbecue.

Day 1 - Gold Creek

Your first day on the river will be the most relaxing. It's a Class 1 float through the Gold Creek section, with the best stretches on the river for spotting wildlife and some really fantastic views of the arid hillsides. A couple Class 2 rapids here and there will spice it up a little, as well as plenty of time to play games and have fun. We'll arrive at the Lightning Pine RV Park in the afternoon, set up camp for the night, and light up the grills for our barbecue.

Day 2 - Black Canyon

After a hearty breakfast the next morning, you'll tackle the Class 3 rapids of the Black Canyon section. Plunge into white water like the Jolly Green Giant, Hurricane, and the Mother Lode, and don't forget the Black Canyon itself, with the fearsome Black Hole! These are some of the best rapids in the state and an awesome way to finish your experience of the Methow River.

Blue Sky Outfitters' Famous Top Sirloin Steak Barbecue
The Best Food

At the Lightning Pine RV Park, you can change into dry clothes while we heat up the grills. Always an important part of the trip, our food is one of the reasons our guests come back year after year! Enjoy our Top Sirloin Steak BBQ, fresh salad, corn on the cob, french bread, and lemonade to finish off your trip. After your second day on the river, we'll switch things up and serve delicious pork chops instead. The Methow River is located right on the Cascade Loop, right between the awesome destinations of the North Cascades as well as Lake Chelan.
